We provide Facebook fan pages for several of our products. We collect the following personal data in this context: Facebook user name and all data that users upload there under their own responsibility. Should you upload data to the fan page in the context of a special promotion such as a competition, or upload a questionnaire to the fan page, we will use these data exclusively for these purposes. Contacting takes place exclusively via Facebook.

II. The Engelhard Specialist Portal

We thank you for your interest in the Engelhard Specialist Portal. In the following, we would like to inform you about the additional data protection regulations that apply when you access and use the Engelhard Specialist Portal. The general data protection regulations also apply here (please refer to Section I).

 

II.I Provision of the website and generation of log files

We collect the following data:

Every time a user visits our website, our system automatically collects data and information from the operating system of the visitor’s computer. We collect the following data:

  • Information about the browser type and the version used

  • The user’s operating system

  • The user’s IP address

  • The date and time of the visit

These data are also stored in the log files of our system. These data are not stored together with personal data placed at our disposal to us by the user.

 

This is how we collect your data:

The temporary storage of the IP address by our system is required to enable us to deliver the website to the user’s computer. To enable this, the user’s IP address must be stored by us until the user leaves the website.

The storage in log files is essential for guaranteeing the functionality of the website. In addition, the data provide valuable information that enable us to optimise the website and its functions and safeguard the security of our IT systems.

The legal basis for temporary storage of the data and log files is point (f) of Article 6 (1) GDPR.

 

II.II Creating a user account

On our website, we offer users an option to create an account by entering personal data. The data are entered in an input mask (on-screen form), communicated to us and stored. These data are saved to the user’s profile when an account has been successfully created. If this is not the case, the data are immediately deleted from our system.

II.III Engelhard Specialist Portal Webshop

We collect the following data:

Users are required to enter their personal details to create create a customer account. This is necessary for completing transactions when purchasing from the Engelhard Specialist Portal Webshop (see Registration).

The following personal data will be processed when you place an order:

  • Name, first name

  • Address

  • Email

  • Company

  • Title

  • Phone

We share your personal data only with external service providers appointed by us in the context of the execution of the order In the course of order processing, we send the stored data to the logistics company that delivers our products, the travel agent where we book our business trips, or to our payment service provider. All assuming, of course, that the transfer of data for the delivery of our shipments, the hotel booking and the payments we made was absolutely necessary.

To prevent unauthorised third party access to your personal data, the entire ordering process is SSL-encrypted and safely and securely transmitted over the Internet. You are probably familiar with the encrypted connections with the prefix ‘https://’ in the address bar of your browser.

No data relating to payments are ever saved or stored, they are processed directly by our payment services provider (Heidelberger Payment GmbH). We advise you to always keep your log-in details and passwords strictly confidential, and close the pages you were browsing when you were in contact with us, especially if you have to share your computer with others. The following personal data are communicated to our payment services provider (Heidelberger Payment GmbH):

We do not process any details of the payment options you use (credit cards, instant payment or PayPal), these are collected via a secure interface (iFrame) and used for order processing by our payment services provider (Heidelberger Payment GmbH).

You enter your email address when you sign up for the Specialist Portal. In your customer profile, you’ll also see the option for subscribing to our free newsletter. If you tick the box to say yes to our newsletter on your profile page, the following data are sent to the service provider CleverReach, who we have engaged to handle our newsletter subscriptions

You will also be requested to enter the following data when you sign up for our newsletter:
